I am not familiar with any of the universes, but from the description, I sort of imagined dreamscapes as islands in Second Life. Some people are like permanent residents there! Like Theodore.
This makes me wonder about motivations of such an entity. Feelings, too. How do you want something, or love, without a dream of your own, or a body? I don't mean it in any base sense, but if you are virtual, how would you want something like justice or even want a new book to read?
