was my last post really sometime in october? i guess it was. apologies to [livejournal.com profile] lordchaos359 (because i just know you've been uber curious about how my cat's been doing) but having both a real life and an internet life isn't all that easy.

smoke is doing very well. i've started taking her to the market in a pet sling rather than her carrier and she'd doing good with that. haven't bought anything special there. food mostly.

going to canada for the first week of winter break with my boyfriend to see some friends there i met during the summer. one of his classmates and a friend of hers is also coming with us, at least for the long overland trip.

i seem to have lost much of the will to write stuff, since my time is being used for three dnd games (one of which meets twice a week and the other two i'm dm'ing) among other things. though since school is out, i'm hoping to get another chapter of were-cars written, plus another chapter of the city of the rend book.

dnd is really fun. my kobold is level fifteen in the game i'm just playing and about to take her second prestige class. the dm for that came says that, since his difficulty curve is so steep, in order to allow his players to build the best character for that curve he usually allows multi-class characters to ignore the xp penalty at levels above twenty. so i'm doing some preliminary searching for another prestige class she can qualify for by level twenty-first (when her second prestige class runs out of levels that can be taken in it). it has not been easy. the precise collection of feats she's taken and can take over then next five levels is making find a caster class she qualifies for somewhat ... difficult.

that character seems to be attempting to focus on summoning. not that she's taken the relevant feats for summoning-focus, but whenever there's two spells that are just as nifty available, i prefer to take the summoning spell over the other (esp if the summoned creature is a dragon or dragon-shaped). my next general feat for that character is going to be spell thematics which makes all your spells visually run along a theme and look different than what the book says they do, making it harder to counterspell them. and one spell per spell level can be cast at plus one to caster level. the them for this character is so dragons. as though a dragonwrought kobold sorcerer who summons dragon-shaped things, will do anything else.

my 2.0 game is going well. we didn't really get much of anywhere because the game was a break from studying for finals for most of us and we took out our collective frustrations out on every zombie i could throw at them before the game had to break up. my table's power-gamer was very pleased. lots of experience.

we had the first session of my political game on saturday. my two players wandered around drunk in a nightclub for an hour and a half before they even saw a significant monster. zombies again (stop laughing i have the visreps to put an intimidating number of zombies on the board).

later (hopefully i'll be better at updating this in the future)
